Foundation


“Mladen and Maria Antonovi” Foundation is non-governmental (NGO) and non-profit organization. First registration in 1994 according to the Law of People and Family of Bulgaria, re-registration in 2004 according to the law of Non-governmental and Non-profit organizations. The foundation aims to be community beneficial - EIK 131279773. The founders of the Foundations are teachers from the Primary Logopedic (Language Therapy) Boarding - School in Totleben village, professors from the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Now the Primary Logopedic Boarding-School in Totleben village was reduced to a Social Home for children deprived of parental care, where about 120 children ages from 3 to 18 are being placed by the social legislation from Pleven region. The main aim of the Foundation is supporting the Social Home for children deprived of parental care and reviving of the Logopedic School.

The Foundation is dedicated to Mladen Antonov Kunchev (1929-1985) –a pedagogue, a teacher and a social active person. He was the founder of the first Social Home for children in Pleven region to the Primary School “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” and its Headmaster from 1959 to 1962. He was also the director of the Primary Logopedic Boarding School from its establishment in 1962 until 1985. Awarded with the “ Sts. Cyril and Methodius” order I and II degree. Maria Antonova Antonova (1930-1992) – a teacher at the same schools, his wife and assistant as well as one of their son – Krasimir Mladenov Antonov (1952-1999) – a teacher, a mayor and a public figure in Totleben village.
